About Us

The Capital City Football Classic is an authentic down-home football game featuring two premier Historical Black Colleges, (HBCU) Shaw University and Texas Southern University and a Battle of the Bands during a special halftime show. The Capital City Football Classic aims to provide capital, resources, and volunteers to programs throughout Sacramento and Northern California that promotes Literacy, Education, and Cultural Diversity.

The football classic week will feature a variety of special events including a Spelling Bee, High School Essay contest, Multicultural Festival, Celebrity Golf Tournament, United College Action Network, Inc. 20 Year Anniversary Scholarship Gala, Greek Step Show, Gospel Concert and three black College Recruitment Fairs, with over 35 college Representatives.

The mission of the Capital City Football Classic is to leverage the appeal of sports and entertainment to promote Literacy, Education, and Cultural Diversity, and raise capital resources for programs and non profit organizations that service under served communities and at risk youth.
